Before You Start
Gather the following information:
Energy bill information
You will need 12 months' history for electrical and natural
gas usage and cost. (You also can input information from
fuel oil, propane, and central steam use.) Most customers
find that the best data sources are the utility bills filed in
their own accounts payable files.
You also can enter annual energy-use information, but less
information leads to less facility-specific results.
You can enter electric and gas information from other
providers. We will ask you to identify which services you
receive from us so we can inform you of any rebate or
incentive programs that can make some projects even more
worthwhile.
Facility information
We will ask a variety of questions about your facility,
including total floor area in square feet, age, and other
general information. Specific knowledge about your facility's
mechanical systems, history, settings, etc. is helpful but not
